November 2021

November is all about en masse displays, think Jacaranda and Silky Oak (Grevillea robusta). Honeysuckle is also in full bloom and the roses! Not to mention Gardenias to come. Heaven On A Stick!!

I often think I would enjoy having holidays in November! Dreams of spending every waking hour in my garden.  Achieving all of those jobs to be tackled. The jobs that have been on the list for ever.

During the non Covid times (remember them?) there always seemed to be Open Gardens and Garden Rambles. I do love a walk through a garden, catching up with friend and chatting all things gardening. There are always things to learn from a new garden.

Do you know of any local rambles?  I plan on talking to as many gardeners as possible with this in mind for next Autumn and then again for Spring. Please let me know if you are up for opening your garden for a gold coin donation towards a local charity.

Back to gardening in my patch.  I’m very excited to have a new worm farm up and going. So far there even seems to be an even demarkation division of “Chook bucket/Worm bucket.”

The chooks are enjoying daily treats of weeds from the old and collapsing vegetable garden and Spinach from along side their hen house and new garden patch.

Enjoy gardening in your patch this November, on holidays or not. Look at Plants On Main Insta and Facebook for tips and what to plant this November.
